The Government of God
President John Taylor was both
articulate and insightful in his writings. Close to Joseph Smith
during the Prophet's life and at his death, many of President Taylor's
teachings were gleaned directly from him. In this classic work, the
governments of the earth are examined and compared with biblical and
latter-day prophecies of an ideal Christ-centered government.
Accountability for governmental stewardships is emphasized, as is the role
of the Church in laying the foundations for the eventual reign of Jesus
Christ.
Softbound, $7.95.

Mediation and Atonement
President John Taylor was a student
of the scriptures and enjoyed personal schooling under the tutelage of
Joseph Smith. This treatise of Christ's position and influence in the
pre-mortal existence; the fall of Adam and the plan necessitating the
atonement; and the Savior's expiation for the sins of the world are all
treated with doctrinal authority. This work has long been considered
the most profound of its type and is frequently cited by authors of Church
doctrine.
Softbound, $11.95.

The Martyrdom of Joseph Smith
The Martyrdom of Joseph Smith by
President John Taylor is probably the most complete and detailed account of
the events at Carthage which took the lives of both Joseph and Hyrum
Smith. An eyewitness and participant, President Taylor elaborates on
the activities leading to imprisonment; the prophet's foreboding of pending
death; the various visits and conversations which took place in jail; and
the petitions and correspondence with Governor Ford discussing those events
and the promise of state protection. This is a very personalized and
readable account.
Also includes The Mormons, an address
delivered by Col. Thomas L. Kane before the Historical Society of
Pennsylvania in 1850.
Softbound, $6.95.
